PROJECT # - THE FRONT BATH
A few shots of the bathroom sans black mold. You can see plenty of plastic tile and brown trim.
The doors are still their natural 50's plain wood style, but that will change. A shot of the mirror and shelf, which along with the light fixture, will all be gone. |

During
To start, we had to remove the walls. Imagine our surprise to find that we had tile over wallboard over more tile over more wallboard! (According to a friend in construction, this is normal!) The tub is taken out and plans for a new drain are added to the mix.
New insulation and plumbing are added. Corroded pipes are replaced with brass for longevity. A new switch is added to run the new fan and placed in a more logical place, next to the light switch. The outlet is moved to a new and more accessible location. The old fan is removed and a new fan will be installed. The shower stall is added - yikes, have to trim it to fit beside the window. Drywall, Drywall and more Drywall. Drywall is completed and tape and mud put into place. |

After
This is the room completed, painted and ready for ...well, bathroom stuff.
Note here: the floor is done using a plank vinyl which gives the look of tile. Great stuff. |
